“Let’s get serious. I am gay,” Beasley told him near the beginning of the 80-minute interview. “Really? Wow. Seriously. I’m so amazed you’re gay,” Biden responded, feigning astonishment. When Beasley asked whether Biden was gay, too, he answered, “Only a little bit.”
“More or less than 50 percent?” Beasley pressed. “48.5,” Biden said. Biden soon told Beasley that, if he were gay, he would prefer someone “a little bit more masculine.” After further teasing, Biden announced that his “gaydom” had fallen to 47 percent.
